Collaboration to introduce STEM topics to ACES Clients during ABA Therapy
Toronto, ON. and Irvine, CA. - February 10, 2023
ACES 2020, LLC (“ACES” or “the company”), dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families impacted with autism or other special needs, today announced a collaborative partnership with MakerKids from Toronto, Ontario. ACES and MakerKids are teaming up to bring a STEM programming to families to target ACES client’s special interests during their ABA Therapy Sessions. ACES will work with MakerKids to run multiple series targeting interests including Minecraft, Coding and Robotics. The social-emotional skills-based programs are designed to for children who love computer games and can use extra practice building friendships among other social skills they need to thrive. The collaboration will allow families to engage in a fun, treatment option that supports ACES clinical model of care.
Headed by Jennifer Turliuk, MakerKids offers unique social-emotional skill-based programs geared toward children who love computer games. Participating in MakerKids programs is a fun and social way for children to gain fundamental technical skills. As children become more adept at navigating and modifying the interfaces they are presented with, new challenges such as learning to code turns the experience into even more of an educational platform to help build transferable technical skills. Leveraging children’s interest in technology is a gateway to introduce them to other STEM topics, just as important in a cooperative group environment is the opportunity for teaching positive netizen, teamwork, and communication skills.
Jennifer Turliuk, MakerKids CEO, said “This is a groundbreaking collaboration that we think will make new strides and cause a massive positive impact. We are very excited to partner with ACES.”
