As we are nearing the Fall and upcoming school year, we know there may be uncertainty around schedules for school or other activities, and we want to ensure that the therapy provided by ACES is a constant you can rely on. To achieve this, ACES will be implementing improvements to our scheduling process starting August 24th to provide continuity of quality care for your child.
What do these scheduling changes mean for your family?
Some of the top benefits and anticipated outcomes of these upcoming scheduling improvements include:
- Some children may see an increase in Group sessions where clinically appropriate
- In a physically distanced world, ACES is providing safe opportunities for your child to receive the group therapy that they need
- Studies have shown that in-clinic hours may be more effective than in-home patient care, so ACES wants to give your child the opportunity to utilize in-clinic hours where clinically appropriate
- Full authorized weekly therapy hours
- By understanding your full availability, ACES Schedulers will work with you as well as BIs to schedule your child for their full authorized therapy hours
- Maximizing your child’s therapy time with an ACES therapist to get the most out of your payor approved hours
- Less disruption of your child’s scheduled care
- ACES’ priority is providing a service of high-quality therapy to your child, and to provide consistent, quality care, there may be more than one highly qualified Behavioral Interventionist providing therapy to your child should schedule or availability changes occur
To help us achieve these scheduling improvements, there are a few things we need from our families. What we need from you includes:
- Sharing your full availability with ACES, and being up-front with any changes in availability
- For ACES to provide continuity of care to your family, it’s important we have the most up to date availability, and full availability outside your family’s weekly therapy hours
- Understanding your full availability will help ACES schedule a consistent BI for your child
- Your understanding that moving forward ACES will not be able to accept requests or denials for Behavioral Interventionists for non-clinical reasons.ACES takes pride in staffing the best Behavioral Interventionists, and we will ensure your child has a Behavioral Interventionist appropriate for their clinical needs.
To provide the highest-level of service to you and your child, and to minimize any potential lapses in care, various members of the ACES Care Team may be in communication with you for clinical and administrative reasons moving forward, including the following:
- Supervisors – will continue to be your primary point of contact for your child’s progress at ACES
- Regional Scheduling Team –will be in communication with you though email or texting, to ensure that your child is receiving the care that they were prescribed. They may also work with you to resolve any rescheduling needs or identify opportunities to improve your child’s care schedule.
- Please note that texts will only be used to provide updates or confirm appointments, and you can opt out of texting at any time
We anticipate our improved scheduling process will contribute to the best outcomes for your child by more quickly scheduling and having less disruptions to scheduled therapy sessions, as well as better utilizing your child’s full authorized weekly therapy hours, whether in home sessions or in our ACES clinic.
